Job Description

PURPOSE ​

To establish and sustain an integrated capability development framework that drives technical and functional excellence across Agro’s business entities, fostering a continuous learning culture, workforce agility, and operational performance aligned its growth strategy.

THE JOB

  • Develop and execute the implementation of Agro’s multi-year Capability Strategy in line with business objectives and growth aspirations.
  • Partner with HR and functional leaders to develop and continuously update structured capability frameworks for critical functions.
  • Embed competency models into recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and employee development processes.
  • Drive structured upskilling and reskilling programs to strengthen workforce capability and future readiness.
  • Develop functional learning roadmaps, certification programs, and capability-building interventions across operations, engineering, agronomy, commercial, and leadership functions.
  • Build and scale the Agro Capability Academy to support technical, leadership, and commercial capability development.
  • Track and evaluate the ROI of learning and development interventions, ensuring measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, and performance.
  • Promote a performance-driven culture by integrating capability expectations into performance management processes and strengthening managerial coaching capability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align capability strategies with evolving business priorities and workforce needs.

THE PERSON MUST 

  • Demonstrate strong strategic thinking and a future-oriented mindset
  • Have expertise in capability framework development and workforce capability assessment.
  • Possess strong knowledge of talent development, succession planning, and competency mapping.
  • Be skilled in instructional design, adult learning methods, and learning impact measurement.
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management, leadership influence, and collaboration skills.

QUALIFICATION

  • B.Sc/HND in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, ATD, or equivalent are an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a similar role within a related industry
  • Experience designing learning roadmaps, technical certification structures, and development interventions.
