Job Description

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer supports procurement activities at DSR Apapa by coordinating purchasing, supplier management, and documentation, with a strong focus on import processes and refinery operations.
  • The role ensures adherence to procurement policies, supports the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, and facilitates uninterrupted supply of materials.

Key Responsibilities (Duties & Responsibilities)

  • Identify, prequalify, and engage approved local and international suppliers.
  • Request and evaluate quotations and ensure competitive sourcing.
  • Prepare bid analysis and recommend optimal sourcing decisions.
  • Evaluate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and process Purchase Orders (POs) in SAP MM.
  • Coordinate approval workflows and ensure timely PO generation.
  • Follow up on supplier confirmations and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Liaise with logistics, stores, finance, and clearing agents for delivery and payments.
  • Manage import documentation including:
    • Form M
    • Letters of Credit (LC)
    • Direct payments
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (CBN, Customs, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation in SAP and physical archives.
  • Generate procurement reports, spend analysis, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Manage supplier relationships and support contract administration.
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate procurement policies and governance standards.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

  • Import procurement and international sourcing
  • Regulatory compliance (CBN, Customs)
  • Vendor coordination with clearing agents
  • Port logistics and refinery material supply

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or HND in Engineering, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Economics, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of Two (2) years procurement experience
  • Experience in import/export procurement or refinery operations is an advantage

Technical Skills:

  • SAP MM proficiency
  • Knowledge of import documentation and trade finance
  • Supplier relationship and contract management
